Prepare your heart! New cute characters and routes are on their way!
What's happening?
⤷ The original team has decided to make Grow a Girlfriend into a larger game. We started working on it two week ago!
What's going to be added?
⤷ Two new mushroom characters (The ones you can see in the store in the current game) will be added, each with unique personalities, goals and challenges in their routes. You will learn more about the mental, emotional and psychological struggles of the main character and his mushroom companions! Will they get better? Will they get worse? That's up to you!
⤷ The currently-existing story will be polished and have minor additions, including new CGs and writing.
When/Where will it be released?
⤷ Estimated release date: Mid 2024.
⤷ It will be a paid game released on itch.io and Steam.
How can I follow development or support?
⤷ Development progress, such as character designs, WIP screenshots, polls and more, will be available on my Patreon page for only $1/month. Only two people are making this game, including myself working full-time on my art and this project, so I genuinely appreciate any means of support during this time.
Final notes from the creator
Thank you so much to those who left positive and helpfully critical comments on the original release of this game, as well as the few who donated. It genuinely brightened my days when I heard how my game affected players, which was to the point of tears of many apparently.
In my experience, it is disappointingly rare to have an environment where people discuss topics such as anxiety and depression, and as a result I believed that my feelings made me an outsider. Knowing that others could relate to my writings, that it wasn't just me, all alone, has renewed my self-confidence.
This game was originally the product of a spontaneous decision, made hastily, but lovingly, within 3 months of dedication. There were so many more topics I wanted to explore, and am determined to make it exactly the way I want, in a way that will make me proud.
My greatest hope is that its final form will continue to touch the hearts of many more to come.
