Updated to Version 1.2 (and also an apology)

Where the Two Flowers Meet
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Wttfm has been updated to version 1.2. I changed most of the hospital backgrounds, changed a few of the CG's backgrounds, and fixed some inconsistencies and typos. I also changed some of the CGs in the gamebook to reflect this change as well.

Why did I change the backgrounds? Long story short, it's because the backgrounds that I previously used from Mikuni are made with AI. So I decided to replace it with royalty free photographs. I'm sorry about that.

Here's the start of the longer explanation. I'll be honest and transparent here. I was having difficulty looking for hospital and lab backgrounds that fit my vision. I looked through Unsplash, Pexel, Pixabay-- just any royalty free stock photos and there's not a lot that fits. So I decided to look through booth and found the best backgrounds that I could find at that time, and those are Mikuni's AI-generated and edited backgrounds. I've never used AI in my previous works and I didn't want to use AI if I could. But I was too frustrated at the time to comb through stock images and decided to download those AI-generated images.

I only wanted to use it as placeholders at first. However, when I was about to change it before the release of the game, I got discouraged because it's so hard to look for last time. I thought I'd rather not go through the process again. I let my laziness won so I decided to release the game with the AI backgrounds. After releasing, there's a part of me that felt guilty and icky for using AI, knowing how unethical it is and knowing that by doing this, I'm technically a part of that.

So my guilty conscience finally won after a few months have passed, and I decided to look extra hard for photographs that represents the hospital and lab well. In the end, I found some really good photographs thanks to Canvas Pro. Thank you Canvas Pro. I genuinely didn't know why I didn't think of looking there sooner. Now, I just wanted to admit my mistakes, acknowledge it, and apologize. This is a big blunder on my part and I promise not to resort to using AI-generated images, not until there's a more ethical way to use AI in art. I understand if some of you might feel disappointed by my actions, but do know that this is something that will never happen again in the future and that I will do better.

This version won't be available for mac for a while. I should be able to upload the mac version of v1.2 around February. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. But still, thank you for reading this far and I wish you only the best.
