After about a year of working in unreal, and about 6 months after having the final iteration of what I wanted to make, this is the result. While initially planned to be the first chapter, pivoting to a small demo dungeon to minimize art and other design aspects was able to make something genuinely playable in a much faster time frame. With it being an entire year of on and off solo development it turned into something I'm happy with, and I didn't want to leave it in a place completely unfinished before moving on to other things in my life and putting the project more onto the hobby status rather than something I spent most of my days on.
I'd love to move forward with the project, but alone I've felt I won't be able to continue at a speed that would be meaningful enough to commit towards while I'm at a stage in my life where I should move towards establishing myself. While I'll still work on it, progress will slow dramatically compared to the last 5ish months it took to reach this point.
