Welcome back to the 17th progress report for the enhanced version of Battleground Cleanup!
Before I get into everything I did this week, I'm gonna give you a quick overview of what's left to do in order to finish the game.
I'll break this up into 3 categories, "Game based", "Release based" and "Global"
(Game based) I have to...
(Release based) I have to...
(Global) I have to...
Yep, that's right, the saving system currently used in Devil's Arcade and Battleground Cleanup is incapable of saving your progress from an older to a newer version.
If you played Devil's Arcade after the latest update you'll probably have noticed that all your progress is gone.
I'll go into more detail in a separate post, but I'll have to make at least one major change to allow for version to version saving.
NOTE: Please don't overlook, that this problem only affects the WebGL versions of both games, the desktop version for all operating systems (Windows, Mac and Linux) is capable of saving from version to version!
Okay, back to Battleground Cleanup...
I added 3 new arena upgrades! And as I said above, there is only one left to make!
The most obvious upgrade I added, is the laser beams shooting through the screen! They'll take the color of the currently fighting teams.
The next upgrade is the cameras for the viewers, they'll now randomly take photos and I think it adds quite a lot to the ambience.
The last upgrade is really subtle on a image like that, there are now lights coming out of the corners of the screen, which will also take the colors of the current teams.
I think I'm really close to finish development, but especially the saving problem on WebGL requires quite a bit of time to be fixed.
Thanks for sticking around and as I said, I'll probably be posting about the saving issue in more detail soon.
