Last update

Hello everyone, this is Blam here for the last time on itch.io.

Basically, this is a longer-form post to talk about what went right and wrong with the development of our game "Fridas: DownBelow".

Alright so to start things off let me just explain something, Frida's down below is being discontinued, it's not starting up again, we aren't continuing this game as is, it's done. But the Frida's story isn't. I'll explain more on that later.

Bottom line, Development was my fault.

Frida's: down below (Which I'll now reference as F:DB), was a game made after our first demo "Frida's", It was our first game- making experience thing ever. I mean ever, I was someone who wanted to make a game and took a lot of artists and a coder and we slapped something together, even though it could've used some polish, i still think it was good, so good infact that one of the main girls in that game- Frida, will be coming back soon.

Anyway, after the first demo released for Fridas (Not F:DB) , we didn't know what to do, we kind of got bored with the idea that we were doing, so we started over, and after multiple team changes, we came out with our demo for this game. Which is great because we kind of blew up, but with fame there kind of comes the problem when you don't lay out a road ahead of you. I made this game without a road ahead, without a thought of what's coming next. Which led to crappy art, storytelling and writing. As we released more updates I kind of fell out of love with the idea we were coming up with and the other devs did too.

So that leaves us here, ending the game prematurely like we did with our first game "Fridas". So where do we go from here? Well, A week or two back I made a post explaining what me and the Dev team were up to, with the addition of five lustful nights developer "Mydumbname" he introduced us to a system called Godot.

Well we've used godot before and tried to switch multiple times but each time things didn't stick so there's that, anyway. Within a few talks, him and Downv joined our squad and we started on something we always wanted to do, or something I always wanted to do. Which was mashing that visual novel style of gameplay with that fnaf gameplay everyone loves.

Which is what we are working on currently, Our new game "BonBon's" is a visual novel/fnaf style game currently in production. You take the role of a young man named Abel, a man down on his luck and just kicked out of his apartment due to not being able to pay his rent. Right when you're walking out of a store you see an Advertisement for a pizza place/family center that needs a daytime janitor and a nighttime guard. Desperately needing the work, you go in, do the interview and gain the job. Over the course of 5 days you realize things aren't as they seem and the owner is hiding a big secret waiting to get out.

Anyway that's BonBon's. I'm sorry to those who were looking for the next update for F:DB but I'm sorry to say that it just isn't coming. But the girls will all be in our BonBon's game, a game we will finish.

Another announcement

We're moving our stuff to Patreon

We'll be posting all dev logs for our BonBon's on our Patreon, this site makes it incredibly hard to collect donations made by you all so we're looking into Steam releases, making our own website for releases, etc. Anyway this very well may be the last itch post you see from this account.

If you'd like to join our patreon the link is right here, where you can see animations, updates, early releases and early tests for both five lustful nights and for BonBon's - Studio Mirage | Creating horror games. | Patreon

"But what if I don't have the money to donate" , that's okay, Patreon has a feature where you can join a page for free, getting alerts on public posts and etc. If you're interested then this is how you do it

Anyway that's it man, I'm done. Join the discord server if you'd like to keep up to date in the community, I might drop some secrets here and there about the game. With this post Frida's: DownBelow is officially dead. Thank you all.
