Godot 4 Beginners
A downloadable tool for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Long time no update! I’ve had a very busy couple months where I’ve struggled to get the right time in to finish off the next update to the course. So, here’s what I’ve got!

  •     The project is updated for Godot 4.2.1 so you can now play with the latest tools in Godot's 4-month release cycle.
  •     The NavigationServer demo has had a major update, splitting the enemies into groups triggered in areas. Additionally, showing off some other useful nodes like NavigationLink3D.
  •     The NavigationServer doc, this document has become much larger than initially expected, having exceeded the length of any of the other documents before even getting to how the NavigationServer is used in the course. I am uploading 03-Whats-New-In_Godot-4/05-The-NavigationServer as it stands which goes into detail on how to set up enemies with simple AI and Navigation from the ground up.

Where have I been?

My recent delays have been off the back of producing a course: Complete Godot 3D course for GamedevTV. Working with a new team making educational content has been a great learning experience for me and I have found a new groove for making video content I'm hoping to take advantage of.

The course is 20 hours of video content showing how to create three 3D games, A physics-based arcade landing game, a tower defense, and a retro sci-fi fps.
If you're interested in that you can get it at a nice discount in this link!

What’s next?

With that project wrapped up I have a good bit of time to focus on Godot 4 Beginners and more free videos on YouTube, so stay posted for news on both of those.

Thanks for reading and see you soon!
