Hi everyone, this is Sen, the sprite artist for Aurielle/Jory/Orpheus. Today's post is regarding upcoming updates and our donation goal! As you may have noticed, when downloading the game there is a suggested donation of $100. Obviously no one has to donate at this total, but the reason for that number appearing is because we plan to release this game on Steam! This game will remain free, but hosting games on Steam requires $100 upfront regardless if you profit or not, so if you're interested in helping out we'd really appreciate it!
Tears of a Mermaid will also be getting it's first game patch! There is no release date for this update, but we wanted to let you all know so you have something to look forward to! This patch update will contain: Jory and Orpheus sprite updates, cinematic credits, expanded lore entries, and general bug fixes.
As of right now, Jory and Orpheus' sprites only have flat colors while Aurielle is fully rendered. This is because I ended up getting Covid towards the end of the jam when I would've been working on Jory's and Orpheus' sprites. I can't find it in myself to leave the sprites like that, so they will be updated! Desiree will also be getting her own sprite update, but we'll keep that a secret so that you can find out the next time you play :wink:
Our coder is working to patch any bugs/typos we find, so if you've encountered a bug/typo be sure to let us know in the comments so it can be included in the patch update! For now, that's all on our end. Thank you so much for the downloads and reviews! We're looking forward to releasing the patch update!
