Hello everyone,
Firstly, I wish you all wonderful holidays and a happy New Year. We'll definitely have one more post for our patrons by the end of the year, but the next public post will likely be in the coming year.
We had planned to release the new version earlier, but until today, we've been contemplating the next steps. So, we'd like to update you on the current status and reasons why the game hasn't been released yet, as well as when you can expect it. We wanted to be sure about our next moves, and unfortunately, it took longer than anticipated.
On the technical side of the game, we have very good news. Testing in the new Godot engine is complete, and everything looks as it should. While there are some differences in functionality compared to Ren'py, such as the absence of scrolling in texts or text logging, the main features like auto-save, text skipping, back function, loading, text speed, etc., are working correctly. We are currently working on GUI adjustments to make everything clear and minimalist. During testing, we encountered only a few minor bugs, which we are currently fixing.
Regarding the content of the game, we've concluded that we still need to further develop the story and utilize all available elements, such as side quests and an open world. Therefore, we've decided to extend development by one month with the aim of making the story more dynamic and completing certain parts of the game, including finishing Fuky's first part at 100%.
Additionally, we will add the following elements:
Regarding animations, we plan to gradually add them to the game. We can't promise that all scenes will be 100% animated upon release, but every month, we will add new animations. Once we're finished, we'll release an animated version with each new version release.
We'll also rework some current elements:
The game release is scheduled for the end of January or the beginning of February. We'll see how quickly the art progresses.
We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience. Have a wonderful holiday season, and we look forward to the next update in the coming year.
With love, Yumeiro Studio Team
