Slay Bells' 4-Year Anniversary

Slay Bells
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Slay Bells was released 4 years ago today! Originally made in ~5 weeks (check out the 5-part devlog series), Slay Bells quickly became, and has continued to be, my most popular release on Itch.

Having reached the no.1 most popular spot 4 times, receiving hundreds of comments and ratings, being played by Markiplier, Kubz Scouts and berleezy (to name a few), written about by Bloody Disgusting, Dread XP and Screen rant, Slay Bells exceeded my expectations in every way.

However, without all of you playing it, making videos and commenting, Slay Bells would have been buried among the masses of games released here. I’ll be forever grateful for the love and continued support you’ve shown me and my little killer-Santa game!

*Spikes are Christmas lol

So what now? A few months after releasing Slay Bells, I suffered some pretty massive burn out, having only released 2 games (The Whitetail Incident and Bowels of the Ocean) since. But the desire to make new horror games has been reignited in me and I’ve got some pretty cool stuff planned for 2024!

Follow my Twitter/X for future updates.

If you are wanting more Christmas Horror, I just released the “Christmas & Cheats” update for The Whitetail Incident. It adds cheat codes (including a jetpack and big head mode), a bunch of Christmas stuff, and some QoL improvements and bug fixes. It’d mean a lot to me if you check it out :)

Merry Christmas and thanks for coming back for another year!

-Blake
