I'm writing Ghostship Delgado using Gilsoft's The Quill, a tool I used a lot back in the day to make games for the Amstrad and ZX Spectrum. There are better, more up to date tools around of course, but I'm keen to recreate a Quill game with it's unique playing experience, and enjoyment from using the tool. It's an interesting experience in 2023 - I'm using BeebEm to run the Quill and taking advantage loading and saving states is a big help. But it can be a little frustrating at times too... Things like objects are represented in events as numbers, so there's a lot of going backwards and forwards and plenty of room for errors. I work with a Google sheet along side the emulator to keep track of things (I scribbled on pen and paper back in the day). Sometimes it would be nice to use modern things like copy/paste function inside BeebEm/Quill, but these things are a part of the charm I guess!
