#0.2 #major update #Next version
It has taken over half a year to get this version out. The work has paid off - This version marks a big milestone for the gameplay. I’ve already detailed some of the new stuff in this devlog, but here’s a tl;dr list of the highlights:

As you can see from the tl;dr, most of the changes are non-gameplay related. Instead, I have created a foundation for future updates.
Because of that, the next 2 versions will focus heavily on the game itself. I’ve identified 2 areas that I want to tackle next:
For the minute to minute gameplay, I want to finally add roguelite elements to this game. The next update will focus completely on making each run feel unique and making the player choose between different playstyles in order to get as far as possible or as fast as possible to the end of a dungeon.
The metagame will be next after this update. Time trial gives little long term motivation, so I will try to have the player finally earn loot and resources while fighting through a dungeon.
There will probably be a lot of friction between the roguelite systems and the metagame, so getting this right will probably be a long process. Still, with the next updates I want to lay the ground work for some great, long term motivating gameplay to emerge. Fine tuning will come after.
Unfortunately, this update will reset your progress. Your old progress isn’t deleted, and you should theoretically have access to it if you downgrade to the previous version.
I will try to avoid doing this with every update, but since I will most likely rework the coming gameplay elements multiple times, this might happen every now and then. Just to set expectations.
