Update no.2, I have started building the level of the high school, trying to set the atmosphere. I have worked on a few mechanics such as movement of character, also attached flashlight to character, reading notes and a locked door system where the player can unlock them with keys they have to find. There will be a gun system in the game too so I worked on UI that will display ammo too.
