The long overdue 0.21.0 update is here, featuring a new mode, control config improvements, and various other improvements and bug fixes!
You are given preset layouts of minos which you must clear completely as efficiently as possible. There are 40+ stages that increase in difficulty as you progress. Your best scores (i.e. the highest number of pieces remaining for each stage) are tallied together into a single grand score.
The stages in Contest mode have two new types of minos not found in other modes:
These minos need to be cleared twice; when hit by an explosion, they turn into regular minos, which then can be cleared with a second explosion.
These minos are not affected by gravity. They also hold up mino groups that are attached to them, preventing those mino groups from falling as well.
The game now starts with a prompt to press any button:
If you have multiple controllers connected, you can pick which one to use by press any button on that controller at this prompt. If a key on the keyboard is pressed instead, then the game will assign the first controller it finds as the active controller, if any are found.
In either case, if you later want to change the active controller, you can do so in the Control Config menu by selecting the “Change Controller” option:
The Control Config menu now also a “Restore Defaults” option, which restores all key bindings back to their defaults.
