It's Humpday, my fellow coworkers! And what better way to celebrate than a new release!?
Before you get yourselves too excited, know that Version 0.2.0 is a continuation of the system's updates of Version 0.1.9; lots of boring (and I mean boring), behind the scenes work that must be done before I move further into Chapter 2, along with systems that are for Chapter 3, but see key events trigger during Chapter 2.
My goal, as was with Version 0.1.9, is to put in place enough structure that future versions don't require complete restarts. Did I succeed in that? I'd like to think so, but let's be honest; as the scope of Chapter 3 comes into focus, I'm updating more variables and structure that will be necessary to support it. It's not even project creep at this point; it's simply factors that I wasn't thinking through.
So, again, I will do my best NOT to require more restarts, but failing that, will continue to update the Chapter Skip Feature (such as in this update) so that you can at least make some base decisions and move a little further into the story if you have to restart.
All that said: Previous Saves will not work correctly with Version 0.2.0 and definitely will not work correctly with Chapter 3 if you retain these saves. It is highly recommended to start from the beginning.
The update notes won't look as robust as Version 0.1.9, but hey, there was a lot of low hanging fruit; Version 0.2.0 got stuck with a whole bunch of necessary but lowkey changes, to include an entire 200+ passage review for CSS changes.
MAJOR UPDATES
As has always been the case, thank you to those who help me review the game; it makes it so much easier on me when I have a list of bugs ready to tackle versus having to go out and find them! Special credit to justhereforhelp on the Chapter Skip and Gambit2018 for your continued, detailed review!
THE NITTY GRITTY
Version 0.2.1, 'The Rapid Regenerative Lab' is in the works (and you may actually see the first couple of passages have had some minor updates/additions). Some of Version 0.2.0 got squished out to make my 4 Week timeframe, so images will be the number one factor to release going forward; there's plenty of story already to tell!
