Week 6 Dev Log: Oct. 23 - Oct. 29

Decisions:
- Level 1
- Make the box into an additional puzzle to help teach interaction mechanic
- Movement
- Reduce vertical drag
- Add sprinting
- Allow analog stick for letter selection
- Increase delay on camera reset
- Direction
- Not clear where to go - add dolly camera / line trace to indicate next clipboard
- Hints
- Level 2 needs more initial hints
- Hint functionality not obvious
- Add indication that wrong solution = hint points
- Add priority letters (beginning of word)
- Allow to undo hint inserts to allow spelling more words
Obstacles / Things to Consider:
- Are we leading the player so much that they won't explore the level?
- Interacting with two objects in close proximity doesn't always work properly
- Figuring out how to better communicate the hint functionality to the player
- Need to help players when they get stuck but also not make the game too easy
Progress:
- Added pencil trail to follow player when walking
- Can draw on floor / obstacles
- Added new level one puzzle solutions to expand creativity
- Level 2 solutions / functionality implemented
- Overhauled the clipboard UI
- Added level 1 hint images
- Implement fan functionality
- Implemented hint points system
- Hint point gained for spelling wrong words

Next Steps:
- Implement animations for alpha
- Incorporate GDDC feedback
- Add dolly camera / pencil trace to indicate player direction
- Give more level 2 hints
- make interactable objects more noticeable by adding glow
- improve hint system to prevent it from “locking you in” to a solution
- Indicate hint functionality to player
- Fix minor bugs
- Overlapping interactable objects doesn’t always work
- Can draw in air in certain spots
