#Exploding Pixels
Hello anyone who may see this,
I am deno, solo dev currently working on Exploding Pixels, which this a devlog for.
While the initial launch of the early demo was a little before this, I felt that with this last update (to 0.0.1) the demo was in a good enough spot to warrant not only the .1 but the an actual devlog announcement.
So let's go over what exactly this game is:
Exploding Pixels is a fast-paced, deck-builder, bullet-hell where most things in the game are cards. Each character has a Pattern, Pain, and Power deck in which each round of game play focus on. Based on the selected option (definitely going to change), a number of cards are drawn at the beginning of a round and the player has an option to draw a hand of pain and power cards that modify the stats of a given round. These three hands then feed into your bounty, which is the amount of money earned at the end of the round, Patterns are added to each other, and the values from the Pain cards are than multiplied. Survive the round by collecting batteries to power the money printer to earn your bounty, but be careful because as the rounds increase so does number of batteries needed. Upon completing the round, the player is drawn "Where To Next" Cards (presently one Go Deeper and one Shop Card), which determine what the player can do next. Go Deeper, starts another round with the number of cards indicated drawn that round. Shops allow the player to spend their wealth on adding new Patterns and Pain and Power Cards to their respective decks.
If Experience Madness is selected, cards are not removed between rounds, and are added to each other each round.
That was a brief overview into what is presently in the demo, but I wanted to take some time to go over what's coming up, eventually:
And I think that'll wrap things up for now, thank you for anyone who has gotten here, and thank you for possibly checking out Exploding Pixels. The main reason behind it was to make a game that I myself would want to play and so far, I am really enjoying what I have made so far. I have big plans and things are subject to change. Updates will come as frequently as they can, depending on how much gets added. I will try to keep up with creating these devlogs to chronicle the journey, for nothing else so that I have something to look back on when I am done with this project.
Feel free to follow along, and have a great rest of your day,
deno
