Hello to all our dedicated players and those closely following the game’s progress!
I’m excited to announce some significant updates to “The War of the Worlds” game adaptation:
🐞 Bug Fixes: I’ve made corrections regarding the NPCs. Some actions that were triggering at the wrong time have been fixed for a smoother gameplay experience.
🛠️ Integration of the Tile Swap Plugin: I’ve integrated the Tile Swap plugin which allows for modifying tiles in the decor. This is a major advancement as it will enable the creation of animations, especially for the tripods.
🤖 The Tripods: These iconic creatures will be massive, and the GBC can’t support such large sprites. Thanks to the tile replacement technique, I’ll also be able to add crowds and animate their movements, like during escapes.
🎨 Animations: Whether it’s directly in script or via the plugin, animating the tripods will be a significant challenge. I anticipate spending hours, if not tens of hours, on this aspect. But it’s an essential element of the game. I’ll be working on proofs of concept on Aseprite for the animations.
📖 Progress: Chapter 1 is complete! I’m gearing up to start the development of Chapter 2 where the real detective work will begin.
