The game is now playable on the browser, but also there are more new things.
Updated the colour palette for better contrast and visibility of the main character also updated some sprites for better quality.
Since last version I have worked on new UI.
This is the power up info, it shows up every time you gain a new power. This way the player have better information of the abilities available to them. also helps with the sense of progression through the game.
This is the communication device, this provisional UI helps the player in his communications with Oscar, every piece of dialog will have a couple of options, allowing for a dynamic where you decide what pieces of information you reveal and how the story inside the game develops. The decisions made in this dialog can affect the way Oscar interacts with the world.
The next step is to create the world in which the story unfolds, for this I decided to use the Tiled tool that can be found here on itch, it allows you to quickly iterate on level creation and will allow me to create a block out of the entire world before implementing it on the game engine. Also in this stage I have to make the decisions on hidden objects, secret paths, backtracking, boss encounters and power ups. I hope that when this step is completed also find a new artist to help me construct the world from the visual stand point.
The other task in the development is the creation of the interactive dialog system contents and also the consequences of the player decisions inside the game world and mechanics. For now I only have a rough sketch of what it will be, so I will be working on that too.
There are two main systems of the game that aren't implemented on the game yet, one is the saving system and the other is the map, this systems are very important in this kind of game and I hope to be implementing them soon.
