#1.1
Hi everyone,
I had kinda lost hope of getting back to this project after a while, but I have some new motivations and I've decided to use Belug's boring Minesweeperis a stepping stone to learn a few new tricks for another project I'm preparing.
Let's not get your hopes too high at the moment, this is only a small update, it's an engine upgrade from Godot 3.3 to Godot 4.1 so there's nothing new for you at the moment other than it should support newer systems better.
As usual, the Windows and Linux exports are tested and should work well, but the OSX version isn't and the packaging tool of Godot gave me some warnings that might cause you some problems. It's all about the Gatekeeper, the pseudo protection that Apple added to make users fear downloading stuff outside of the App Store. I hope you guys will still be able to run it.
Now, for the future of the game and why I've decided to get back to it, I've always wanted to make the play area look better with 3D elements, but I never had the motivation to do it. What changed you ask? I'm planning for another game I wanted to do for at least a decade, but I never had the time to do something of that scope and now I do have the time, but I need to learn a few skills like 3D modeling and implementing those 3D models inside Godot. So I've decided to upgrade BBMS to the vision I had two years ago and use it as a way to learn what I want to learn.
What can you expect of BBMS 2.0:
So yeah, I'm gonna be busy for a while, I might do a few devlogs of the process with some screenshots and maybe some beta builds.
I've also left the older versions so if there's a problem runing Godot 4.1 on your system, you can still run the older version, it's still the same gameplay.
See you soon,
Belug.
