Our team are definitely very happy with the results of our game! We put in a lot of work over the course of that week to make the game feel fun to play and look/listen to. We are absolutely grateful for all the feedback we've received, and we'd like to release a small update addressing some of the pain points that were highlighted over the course of the voting period. I'll very quickly cover the changes we've made to address these feedback:
------------------
1. It became very apparent very quickly that the room design of the large central room didn't quite exactly lead players through the intended path; some people had completely skipped the first and second areas, of which the former would cause a softlock. Therefore, we made some tweaks to the level design to the room to direct players towards the intended path and prevent them from going ahead earlier than expected.
------------------
2. Yeah, our Dash wasn't really all that powerful was it? Hearing reports that people were still able to complete the game despite completely skipping over the Dash upgrade, while hilarious, breaks my game designer heart ( this is my face rn :<). While part of the issue was covered in the previous point, I think the heart of it lies in the fact that the Dash was simply not powerful enough, which hampered our ability to design segments with that ability as the intended solution. To remedy that, we bumped up the power of the Dash ability and did another redesign of a segment in the central room to hopefully show the player that the Dash is powerful and should be used (they're trying their best).
------------------
That should cover all the major issues we've addressed! TL;DR: Dash is better! Go the right way 💢.
And with that, our team can wrap up production on this game. If you enjoyed playing our game, do follow us (and all our team members too!) to keep up with any games that we will make in the future. Have a lovely Sunday!
