Nox launch date at October 2023

Nox Dies
A downloadable game for Windows

Nox Dies finally has a launch time, which will be October of this autumn - in other words, next month!

I decided not to leave it to text format and put up pictures for it, as well as made it a bit more gamified than, say, Deathlock was.

I have a lot to say about Nox Dies as a project, and I will be posting about it more once the free demo is ready (with the completed project not too far behind it), but I can already tell you this much:

Pallaskissa wrote the script for Deathlock. I wrote the script for Nox. We both wanted to tackle similar topics, which is - how far would you go to protect and try to save someone you love, even if they had turned into a monster? Would it be worthy? At what point would you determine it is not worth it anymore?

Despite this similar thematic, we did not discuss these topics until we had both finished with our respective scripts. This means there are also thematic differences as follows.

Deathlock is a game that explores a toxic relationship, messed-up power dynamics and powerlessness.

Nox Dies is a game that explores addiction as an allegory, loving someone with an addiction (such as alcoholism), and never being safe.

Deathlock is an allegory for a toxic relationship, Nox Dies is an allegory for alcoholism. These themes are very dark, and we both hope dearly that perhaps they can touch the hearts of people who have gone through something similar.

Also, contrary to all of our other stories, with these two projects there is no happy ending guaranteed. Because such is often life in these cases.

At best, you can hope for closure.

I hope you will like the projects. <3
