About 80% of this update has to do with applying demo day feedback, thanks to everyone who played and commented.
New Features:
- Minimap
- Portrait indicators
- Rebalanced Combat:
- Fewer dodges & parries.
- Shields now benefit from their armour stat and the wielder's defensive stat
- Critical hits exist now.
- Attacking while concealed nearly guarantees a critical hit.
- Most enemies now have a maximum chase distance, but some will chase farther than others. Some cannot be run from.
- New Gambits for NPCs (this still hasn't been exposed in the UI however).
- Weapons and Armour equipped now reduce movement speed based upon their weight. Shields are especially cumbersome.
Fixes:
- It turns out there were some problems with the save game system, causing crashes when dying and restarting a level. Some of these bugs did not occur until the second reload of the level as well, making them especially difficult to discover when self-play testing. Thanks again to everyone who continued to provide feedback.
- Tidied up some movement and concealment mechanics. The pathfinding is still lacking though.
