Update 5 NOW AVAILABLE!
First update that's actually resembling on schedule in a very long time! Here's what's been done.
Changes and Additions
- Improved lighting effects on Saul
- Improved lighting effects in Crash Site area and some other background art
- Revamped character animation for Saul. It's much smoother now!
- Give Saul different animations when unarmed
- Add normal maps to Crash Site and Subterrainia zones
- Improved animations of goo splats on enemy death
- Small VFX improvements on opening cutscene
- Improve feel of blaster weapon
- Improved visual effects for plasma/lightning beams in factory
- Get visuals of the intro cutscene consistent with Crash Site
- Actually use title art that was created for Update 4
Bugs Fixed
- Saul sometimes crushed on running into thin platforms (at least I think it's fixed!)
- Saul is lighting up objects that aren't supposed to be visible making weird silhouettes
- Saul shows in front of crashed ship during intro
- Saul landing triggers unnecessarily when walking over slopes (mostly)
- Saul can shoot inside walls
- Purple elevator in Cyberskull Factory can cause zip leading to soft lock
- Some enemies still slide on slopes when they shouldn't
- Saul doesn't slide on steep slopes properly
- Jaw Crawler enemy sometimes getting stuck for no obvious reason
- Razor Buzz enemies playing noise after respawning when killed while agro
- Spew shroom in wrong animation state on respawn
- YeetBEEST shield now blocks Saul's shots again
- Messed up scrolling of save slots on deletion of saves
Known Issues
- Player health continues to flash when respawned after dying
- Landing on a slope may spam sounds
- Player doesn't enter landing animation when landing during a boost or at peak of jump
- Cyber heart firing animation doesn't look right
- Cyber heart uses wrong bullet graphic for a couple shots
- Various small graphical layering and placement issues with Cyberskull factory
- Unarmed walk animation doesn't make step sounds
- A couple instances of unnecessary landings when walking off of slopes
