Hello everyone! This is a pretty significant update, because I spent the last two weeks altering the movement.
I gotta admit I did not have a clue how I should structure this devlog, and how much you would want me to dive into writing about all the adjustments I made. I figured recording some arcs in my testing stage would be a good start:
One of the big changes is how big of a difference does sprinting midair.
These changes to how sprint works midair gives more control to you by giving more options, but also leaves more room for you to doing something wrong. This is going to be a new learning curve to players who played the game before.
Another significant change was done to the "coyote time" also known as "ghost jump". After you run off a ledge you got more time to jump as if you were still touching the ground. I also don't drop you for that duration of time, meaning running over gaps, or cutting corners above lava is that much better.
Crouch landing on top of bouncy objects, e.g. Mushroom Caps is stronger now, which is important because you might find their normal bounces weaker depending on your landing set ups.
With all the movement changes the large gap in the tutorial became too easy, so I turned into a different kind of obstacle to really try to teach the importance of well timed combinations of Dashing and Air Jumping.
I also made many adjustment to how movement is handled on slopes.
