It’s simple: Every FPS must have a shotgun.
So far in the game the only weapons were repurposed tools: a simple wrench, a weak pistol to kill rodents and an EMP cannon made to “turn off” machines from a safe distance.
But I always wanted to add something that feels like a proper gun so there is some feeling of power by the end of the game.
I present you the KYAG-23: a crowd-control weapon for mercenaries to relentlessly suppress all opposition to the Corporation. It will one-shot maintenance droids and aliens from a close distance, although turrets are still only vulnerable to EMP bolts.
I made the pistol a bit worse by limiting its firing rate, now it cannot be quickly tapped as before.
The final boss fight was also rebalanced: I increased its HP to compensate the shotgun but I made it a bit slower and the turrets are less deadly now.
It’s still hard but the shotgun makes the battle more fair. Let me know what you think.
