Update 1.2.4: Streamlining Fate Step Mechanics

We’re excited to announce a small but significant update to the game with version 1.2.4. Our team has been working hard to refine the game mechanics and improve the overall player experience. In this update, we’ve made a change to the Fate Step mechanism, and we’d like to take a moment to explain the reasoning behind it.

Previously, players were able to play two cards from their hand during the Fate Step. However, we’ve decided to remove this feature and instead, players will now only draw the top card from the Fate Deck to determine the outcome of their action.

Why the change? We felt that having two cards in your hand to play at any time made the game too predictable and took away from the element of chance. It also made the game too easy, as players could simply play the cards they wanted without any risk of failure. We want Solitaria to be a game that’s both random and strategic, and this change helps achieve that balance.

With the removal of the 2 cards on your hand, the Fate Deck becomes even more important. It’s now the primary source of randomness in the game, and it’s used not only to determine the outcome of your actions but also as an oracle generator. We’ve also made some minor edits to the text to reflect this change.

We’d like to thank all of our playtesters and supporters for their feedback, which has been invaluable in helping us refine the game. We’re still working on the gameplay video, so stay tuned for more updates.

Thanks for playing Solitaria, and we hope you enjoy this latest update!
