Hi folks,
I got a bit too optimistic with the last update. As it turns out, the macOS build of the game continued to be plagued with numerous issues, despite what I initially thought. In particular, the more stringent signing requirements required by Apple Silicon Macs (and versions of macOS post-Catalina in general) put the game in a state I'm not satisfied with. Because I don't have any AS Macs to test on (or *any* Macs past 2011 in general), I've delisted the pre-configured macOS DOSBox environment until further notice. I apologize.
If it's any consolation, the DOS version of the game can still be played on a Mac, as long as you have the know-how to set up DOSBox or one of its many forks, such as DOSBox-Staging (the fork used for WH's pre-conf'd environment) or Boxer. If the macOS version worked for you, and you'd like to transfer your save data, copy 'WordHopper.app (right-click>show contents)/Contents/Resources/drives/c/PROFILE.DAT' to the same location as the DOS version's EXE.
Again, I'm deeply sorry I had to do this. I typically triple-check things before release, but the combination of this being a jam game with a tight schedule + not having the hardware/credentials on hand to do things properly put me in a bad position.
