Dystopicon is a game that I created several years ago, during a challenging period in my life, and I've always had the feeling that it could be much better. Since its release until today, it has reached around 9300 downloads, many more than I expected.
It was very well received, being featured in various media and YouTube videos, notably by GrayStillPlays, with over 1.6 million views. Additionally, it has been referenced in the article 'Video Games as Conveyors of Social and Political Ideas,' written by Game Studies Ph.D. Adrián Suárez, for the book 'Video Games of the Present. Reality in Ludic Format.'
I haven't updated the game in a long time because I needed to change the internal architecture to make it easier to add new content. I've been working on this project in my spare time, which has been limited in recent years. However, the game is now ready to receive new content.
In this new version, you may not see many visible changes, but internally the game is completely distinct. Therefore, I ask for your patience if you encounter any bugs, and I would appreciate it if you could let me know. You'll notice that the UI has changed significantly, and the arrangement of some elements has been altered.
What are the next steps? Here's what I want to do with the game:
We plan to publish the game on Steam, and it will likely transition from being free to having a price range between $10 - $15. In this regard, I appreciate any feedback to know your thoughts.
The Trinity thanks you for playing Dystopicon! Cheers and happy gaming!
