#Update
I wanted to make some changes to the game, so here they are. I thought I should upload the new version as soon as I could, so I will definitely still be making more changes in the future.
This patch contains a few important changes:
And here’s what you can expect for upcoming 1.1 builds:
Long term goals:
For the long term, I want to make some more changes. The “score shop” was something I came up with on the fly because I needed a way for the player to earn new spell components over time, but it’s not very elegant. So I’ll be working on a system that lets the player exercise a bit more control over their spells, including the ability to use components multiple times, rather than having them just disappear each time you switch the spell you’re using.
I also want to make the game fully keyboard-compatible in the future, which it’s not yet, since the shop must be operated with the mouse. I’m unsure whether I’ll be adding this in an upcoming 1.1 build, or whether I’ll wait until after I change the shop system.
As for what happens after that, I can say this: I may make a full game that borrows heavily from You’re The Boss. But it won’t be a direct extension of it. The reason is that I don’t want to be tied to all of the decisions I’ve had to make in just 48 hours if I’m going to turn this into a serious project. But I’ll be able to say more about this in the future. For now, I still have a prototype to polish up.
