Surprise surprise, Version 2.3 for Pat the Peppino is now available for both web and desktop players! While this version's development heavily focused on the more technical side of the game (such as with code improvements and optimizations), there's still enough new content to go around for everyone. Besides that though, here's what's new:
Additions:
- As in the name, The Vigilante has been added as a pattable plushie; with a death voiceline by yours truly! ;)
- Added a settings menu! The settings for right now include options to toggle music and/or sfx, along with options to toggle fullscreen and to toggle the shaking of some of the game's text. (Note: Settings will actually save on the desktop version, so downloading it if you plan on playing the game multiple times is recommended!)
(Second note: For right now deleting your save data on the desktop version is a bit difficult, so I might make a tutorial on how to do it at a later date. Do know that this will be addressed in the next update!!)
- Added high score counters to track your total amount of pats and punches, which also save on the desktop version!
Changes/Fixes:
- Bottom text now disappears when going to the controls menu.
- The pat counter now properly resets with the patting zone.
- Made the fade in/fade out effects a bit faster and more efficient.
- Fixed the fact that there was no fade in for the controls menu.
- Made the gui in the patting zone a bit more compact to help with it taking up a good chunk of the screen.
- Change the desktop exclusive quit screen to address the fact that your pat and punch counters do technically save now.
- Added a height limit to the plushie, mainly so you can constantly punch it without it going entirely offscreen. Might make such a toggleable setting later one if it's needed.
