Things are well on their way. I hope to have a substantial demo (with an hour or more of full gameplay) sometime before the end of this month (July 2023). This also does not show the quality of the graphics off, either - the game is running buttery smooth on a 5-year-old laptop, 1280x720 @ 60fps. It looks pretty darn good.
Features worth noting - every spell type (Fire, Lightning, White, Earth, Time, Black, Summons) has its own casting animation. In Meme Mode, there are multiple potential summons. There is a 1/4 chance for a special summon that rolls damage 3 times.
The combat algorithms are working with basically 100% accuracy. Special thanks to Deathlike2's combat mechanics FAQ and magic mechanics FAQ. Additional credit to the Free Enterprise Wiki for giving me an easy place to find the attack multipliers for monsters. Also, to Crow! of the Lunarian Shuffle Randomizer for helping me to understand mechanics over the years as well as pointing me to ff4kster for the deep-dive information.
