Project ASS - Items, Journal, and Bug Fixes [B1.1]

Welcome to Version 1.1B of Project ASS!

In BETA 1.1, explore a revamped map full of enemies, relics, items, and cards - all still with the one loveable hero, Jack. 

New Additions

  • Added new settings menu accessible via the Escape key or various buttons
  • Added items: one-time-use buffs that can either be used in battle or on the map
  • Added journal tab to view information on previously encountered enemies
  • Added four new cards: Claws Out, Harvest, Oddity, Sanitize
  • Added three new relics: Loud Megaphone, Powerbank, Vampire Teeth
  • Added one new miniboss enemy for the Forest, and one new regular enemy
  • Added a new secret playable hero and a few additional cards

Changes

  • Shop card and relic prices now cost less per rarity tier
  • Changed card rarity chances (common 60%, uncommon 30%, rare 10%)
  • You will always encounter new enemies until all available enemies have been seen
  • You will heal all your health back during the dialogue after the Dummy
  • Cards that are not playable due to energy cost will now appear to gray out
  • Added more tooltip information when cards are hovered over
  • Remodeled top bar to include settings icon and items
  • Selected targets during battle now have a target under them
  • The shopkeeper now gives more detailed information when each tab is clicked
  • Updated particle effects for Lone Fox boss and MrMushroom miniboss
  • Tooltips for cards in the shop now appear next to the price for easy visibility
  • Increased the max number of cards that appear in the shop (6) -> (8)
  • Lowered the max number of cards you can have in your hand (10) -> (8)
  • Treasure areas on the map now appear slightly less frequently
  • Dialogue in the map and shop no longer progress if the player clicks on a UI button

Balance Changes

  • Reworked Channel (damage now cannot be tanked by block)
  • Nerfed Poke (0 cost, 3 bleed) -> (0 cost, 3 bleed, Exhaust)
  • Nerfed Resistance (Defense status now renders AFTER block is applied)
  • Nerfed Anger (Strength status now renders AFTER the damage is applied)
  • Buffed Sharpen (attacks inflict 1 bleed) -> (attacks inflict 2 bleed)
  • Buffed Salvage (1 cost) -> (0 cost)
  • Buffed Strategize (1 cost) -> (0 cost)

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug where enemy's turn would skip if player opened up card preview during enemy's attack animation
  • Fixed bug where the player had to click twice to progress dialogue
  • Fixed bug where Barrier status effect displayed incorrect tooltips
  • Fixed bug where the Continue button sometimes crashed the game
  • Fixed bug where clicking the deck button before switching scenes broke the button until the game was reset
  • Fixed bug where killing the second enemy would prevent the first enemy from attacking
  • Fixed bug where clicking New Game after having a saved game would prevent dialogue from playing
  • Fixed bug where the player won slightly less cash than supposed to
  • Fixed layering issues with the treasure tooltip scene

DEFINITELY feel free to give us feedback! We're entirely open to hotfixes and quick balance changes to make the game more playable. :)
