Finally, a public build! I kept adding bits and pieces without having a clear end-goal in sight, whoops.
You can now turn on an internal POV in the Content settings. This will give you a first-person view going down Fen’s throat and sloshing around Fen’s stomach.
Note that this is kind of performance-intensive. I’m using an old stomach model that’s…very high poly. I’ll be coming back to this in the future.
I’d also like to introduce some visible struggling, since prey just flops around in there right now.
Since this is the first time you’ve been able to switch POVs, I made some changes to audio system. Therefore, you’ll hear unmuffled gurgles when in Fen’s stomach, and hear muffled gurgles when outside.
If you enable violence in the Content settings, Fen will be able to stomp, crush, and bite you. Turning on visual violence will enable blood and gore.
Intense visual violence enables much bloodier digestion. You’ll also get to see booooooones – note that this is separate from the bones Fen burps up after digesting someone.
You can adjust what kinds of actions Fen will perform in the new Behavior settings. Turning down hunger will make it less like to eat you; turning up cruelty will make crushing and biting more frequent.
Note that actions will only occur if your content settings allow them. You can check which actions are currently possible by opening the debug menu, toggling “Monster Debug”, and then toggling “Grab Actions” and “Post Grab Actions”.
You can also adjust how frequent the actions are in there! Very useful if you want to, say, just get stomped over and over.
I’d like to work on the game’s audio – especially making Fen more “noisy”. It should be snarling and sniffing and growling and all sorts of things.
I’m also going to work on a “cinematic” camera option to give you a good view of what Fen’s doing to you. I started doing that before realizing I really need to just make a public build…
Lastly, I’m looking to do some new animations for Fen. That walk just isn’t threatening (or fast) enough.
