#dev update #devlog
It's the end of the month already? It seems like just yesterday that I wrote May's update!
Of course, I did go on vacation not too long after posting that. Time flies when you're having fun (and taking photos of little sitting cut-outs of your characters in London...)
Despite being away from my workspace, there have been some great developments on the OSAS front—though perhaps not as much on the development bit!
As mentioned in the changelog for Version 2.5 of the demo (more on that below!) we've got a date for the launch of the Of Sense and Soul Kickstarter: July 12th/13th! Mark your calendars using the times below:
Follow our Pre-Launch page to be notified as soon as the campaign starts! ๐ฑ
Over the past month (fittingly, it's been Pride Month! ๐โจ) we've been very privileged to have had our demo played by several content creators!
Visual Novelty posted a lovely playthrough on YouTube, and icanbequeero, Otomeaddicted, kat_ri_elle, and n4c9sArt hosted amazing streams of the demo on their respective Twitch channels.
(If any of you are reading this, thank you so much! It was such a treat to share your experience of the demo--it's a side of the game we don't often get to see!)
The daunting task of sending piles of emails to creators is well worth the impact the demo has on the creators we do manage to reach. Thus far, everyone who has covered OSAS' demo has really enjoyed and felt a connection to the story, whether through a character or the situation or the overall narrative, and that's exactly what we've set out to do.
We've been fairly successful on the front of finding interested streamers, and there are more to come in the following month which we are very excited about! I really hope they connect with the game as much as others have.
Thanks to player feedback and observations from those streams/videos, we were able to direct attention towards bugs and issues that were in the demo.
These included audio leveling issues (for which we have made a quick fix but are working on overall balancing of) and a strange bug at the end of the demo that directed some players back to the end of the writing choice segment of Hugo Chapter 1.

As mentioned above, despite my travelling in June, work has continued steadily in several areas of production, from writing to backgrounds to music to programming.
(Look at this beautiful candelabra Joseph's painted into Seamus' dining room background! Just spectacular.)
And here's a snippet from Chapter 6 of Seamus' route, as shared on the blue bird site by our co-writer Rowan:
The Kickstarter, of course! With all its nerves and excitement. We'll be sharing more about the rewards in store here in the coming weeks.
If you haven't yet, it would be a great time to subscribe to our newsletter the Illustrated OSAS News, because there's a second exclusive animated voice blooper reel preview due in a few short days... ๐
The next time you see me post a devlog here, I hope I'll have abundant good news to report! ๐๐ช
Until Next Time,
Ingrid
