I rebuilt the system for faction projects and investigations. The whole thing now has a strong visual, haptic aspect with dice that represent individual projects and investigations being added to, removed from and turned on superblock maps. Both projects and investigations have essentially become competitive minigames.
I also replaced the mechanic for personal consequences by a more concrete, condition-based system.
This update took a lot of design work but I feel it was eminently worth it.
