Post Jam QoL changes
Just making a few QoL changes now that the jam is over. Overall I'm happy with the game and people seem to have enjoyed it, but there were a few things I saw people call out in the comments that I wanted to fix:
- Changes to how ladders work:
- You can now move left and right while climbing ladders to drop off of them early, as well as jump off ladders while you are climbing them
- You should no longer get stuck at the top of ladders. This was caused by being at least a few pixels from the very top of the ladder. Now you'll walk off as expected
- I've added a death animation to the boss yokai when you banish them. They also flash periodically when they're in their "banish-able" state. This is just to help clear up any momentary confusion/hesitation on what the player is supposed to do at that point in the level. It also just makes things look a bit better
- I lowered the point thresholds to get 1-ups slightly in the three lower difficulties. I think I was a bit too reserved with these initially so I'm pulling that back a bit
