Log #6 MOJO approaches!

Angler
A browser game made in HTML5

Hey all, Guilherme here!

This week is the busiest yet, as we are all hard at work making sure this prototype is the best it can be when shown at MOJO! This week I have been working on the fishing rod hook throw and also the enemy AI, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

This is one enemy I designed! It's a deteriorated machine that I call an "Ancient Construct".  Cute, isn't it? Minus when it fires its laser at you.

We hope to have a prototype of the first area of the game (or at least a big part of it) done this week. I hope participants and visitors are looking forward to trying out our game at MOJO this Monday, see you all there!

Hey There!

This week we've been in a bit of a rush... I helped my teammates write the reports to be delivered, and when it comes to the prototype I revamped the whole fishing activity! The fishes now are the ones coming to the hook, unlike the approach we have in our prototype. The fishing minigame now is random and different fishes present different minigames. I'm also currently implemented some limitations with the player movement when fishing, and NERFED  the movement while on the water.  I also revamped the pulling fish, the player now truly looks like it's being dragged by the fish instead of the whole thing being a big rotating sprite. The fishes now also have different sprites for when moving randomly or going to catch the bait. These are the ones I made for "the pulling fish".

That's all for the time being, MOJO is coming up and there is still a lot to be done, hope we make it!

Hello!

This week we have been fully focused on developing the 2nd prototype, after updating the tech and design documents and writing the playtesting document.

Now I'm currently trying to fix some minor bugs, and then I'm going to work on adding the ability to pull boxes and enemies with the fishing rod.

The clock is ticking!

See you ate MOJO!
