Pre-Demo and Beyond
Another day, another dollar
Today is day 3 since early access launched and I'm not slowing down any time soon. A new update has just gone live on all platforms and I wanted to take a minute to go over some of the new changes.
Level Design
- A handful of levels have been reworked to improve gameplay.
- Levels 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, and 3-1 have the most visible changes.
- Level layouts and design have been improved to better guide the player and facilitate better traversal.
Accessibility
- Static hazards are your main enemy in Pathfinder (other than your own skills), they've seen a lot of tweaks recently but I'm still dialing them in.
- Across all tilesets, the static hazards (spikes) have had their sprites reworked to visually contrast the environment more and stand out. This is likely NOT the last time these will be tweaked leading up to the demo launch, but it's my hope that this is a step closer.
Misc. changes
- Upon first launch there is now an early access build disclaimer, doesn't do much but it felt right
- You'll see this the first time you boot up the new update, and then never again (I think)
- The Mac version has been temporarily hidden from the game page.
- For the time being the Mac version of the game is unavailable. This is not a long-term change, I just currently have no testers on Mac. The Mac version will return on request or along with the demo launch.
- Mac players can still play in the browser.
- Thank you for understanding <3
That's all for now! There will likely be another update later today, but we'll see what happens. Like I always say, thank you to everyone testing the game right now without you guys this just wouldn't be possible. In the last couple of days, I've been blown away by what we've been able to accomplish, with each release getting the game closer to the public access build! I'm still deliberating on whether the pre-demo build will go public or not, the next few days are going to be pivotal in that decision. Either way, we are getting close!
