Hello,
Last month we focused on UI, items and wave specials.
The UI has been revamped to be more compact and user-friendly. Elements that were previously located on the top and right sides of the screen have been consolidated into a bottom bar. This bottom bar encompasses resource tallies, a menu for constructing towers, an element selector, an option to purchase research, and an item stash.
We have also enhanced the icons for towers and items. The top-right corner of each icon now indicates the upgrade level of the tower. As towers maintain the same icon across all family upgrades, this distinction in the corner is the sole difference between their icons. Below, you can view the comprehensive list of possible upgrade icons.
We have also incorporated a menu for researching element levels, which are necessary for constructing more powerful towers and upgrading standard ones. In the current version, an economy system has not yet been implemented, so you can experiment with any tower you like at no cost.
The top-left corner now houses essential menu options (which are not yet implemented) along with the portal's life bar. The life bar will decrease each time a creep enters the portal.
During the last month, we have complete 180 item scripts, so currently we have 224/285 items completed. Only 61 items left!
Examples of some new items:
Wave specials are a crucial aspect of the game. Without them, the creeps don't have any special actions. We have implemented the system for wave specials and have completed the majority of the requisite scripts.
Wave specials will show up in menu status:
You can also select a creep and hover over it's buffs to see the description for the effect of the wave special:
Soon, we will have a fully functional website that will feature references to our media and a prominent red button to start the game! For now, we have a mock-up deployed at this location: https://praytic.github.io/youtd2-website/
Added an additional way to move the camera by placing the mouse at the edge of the screen (Contribution by jdbuenol).
Added a message log which will show game tips and other useful information.
