#Sequel #Standalone #Palette
A long time has passed and I've been thinking. After reaching a total roadblock on stuff I've wanted to add to the palette helper and reminiscing on a bunch of ideas I had to cut due to aseprite's limitations, I kind of want to start over. I don't want to make another plugin for aseprite since I really want to use my tool using other programs such as Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint and what's the point of having aseprite open just to access my colors? I know there are some tangible benefits to it actually being a plugin, such as being able to quickly paste colors to the palette, and.. fair enough, but I COULD also make an import script in case that's ever an issue.
But yes, what I want is a standalone version of the palette helper with built in color picker, a matrix grid to position colors from left to right, right to left, top to bottom and whatever else you could imagine. I want to be able to save my palettes, switch between customizable settings and very importantly, analyze the palettes.
Right now it's hard for me to say how much time I can dedicate to this. I don't know if some shortcuts I'm hoping for even exist. The palette helper hasn't exactly been profitable to justify this sort of work. But I like to believe that I've both made my own, aswell as a handful of others' lives a fair bit easier with this. So this will never be truly off the table.
One thing is clear, though. Whatever I end up deciding on the price for the sequel, if I stick to how I've monetized this one or put an actual price tag on, noone who's been generous enough to donate to me will go empty-handed.
I hope that if you've been following me that this is the sort of stuff you like to hear about. Let me know!
