im back, it took me a bit more than the planned week to come back with updates but im here non the less.
this week, i worked in simplifying shields, as, i noticed in the few playtests i have been able to make that no one was taking them, and i gave them more tought and came to the conclusion that they where both weak and complicated to use, as, you had to build a shield instead of just buying it, so, you had to choose a shield shape and material and do math, which was too bothersome for most, and, them taking up armor encumbrance made them just not worth using.
so, i worked a bit on correcting them, altrough i might have overcorrected a bit, but only time and testing will tell .
the first fix, was to divorce shields from the encumbrance system, now shields take no encumbrance, but you have a hard limitation on only being able to carry one shield regardless of size.
then, i sumarized the shields purchase from requiring 2 separate tables (one for shield type and another for shield material) to a single table with variants of every shield in wood and steel.
the alternate materials for shields are currently missing, but, ill add them back up as shield modifications for the next update, they will work in a similar manner to the armor alternate materials, based on the steel versions of the shields.
i also changed the prices of shields, making them considerably cheaper (instead of depending on weird maths), so it will be as easy to buy them as any other equipment.
the only other small change i made besides the shields, is to increase the damage of slings a bit.
for the next update, i might work on fixing bows, as, they have a lot of issues, mainly stemming from the lack of maneuvers and improper explanation of the intended mode of use.
