Storyline (Novella) from the 24th century.
Outline summary:
An assassination gone astray. A droidsman who believes there's a soft hearted soul from below those metallic layers.
Lazul is a reptilian from Kron, node 72. He is after two individuals posing as human actresses during a sci-fi convention. Although his plan is swindled when the droidsmen call out "lights out, drop down," cutting off the vivid lights inside a Las Vegas convention area while the local droidsmen swipe his mind into temp space for interrogation.
Unit 55 is the lead interrogator- and since their first contact, a connection strengthens from within.
