0.3.5 - Improvements

Sadly, we didn't manage to fully complete the boss fight for 32bitJam. Therefore, instead of launching update 0.4, we're now introducing version 0.3.5.

Into the Hive Version 0.3.5 brings additional content to the Basement level, introducing a host of new interactions, and more intuitive inventory visuals. This update also delivers an array of quality of life improvements, bug fixes, and an essential manual save feature.

Levels:

• Changed Basement level geometry in specific places to encourage and simplify stealth

Gameplay:

• Added a manual save system
• Added new interactive objects scattered throughout the levels
• Added enhanced interaction mechanics

Visuals:

• Made minor visual improvements throughout all levels
• Added new enemy animations
• Added new particle systems

Interface:

• Added short videos to each guiding note to better explain the mechanics
• Upgraded visuals for inventory system to improve user experience
• Enhanced interaction visuals
• Full screen mode

Bug fixes:

• Fixed a bug that allowed sequence breaking in the Basement level
• Fixed the lever in the pre-basement room in The Building level
• Fixed AI panic behavior

Update 0.4, once released, will contain the complete boss fight sequence and the ending for The Basement level. In addition, we will collect valuable playtest information to improve the user experience of interacting with our unusual inventory system.
