First public alpha version is here

Phobos Down
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

After almost two years of (lazy solo developer) work Phobos Down is ready enough for the first public alpha version.

I'm a big fan of twin stick shooters and keeping things simple. So for Phobos Down I aim to take what I like the most in this genre of games (smooth intuitive controls and the satisfying action) and leave out all the clutter (complex skill trees, crafting, scrolling through menus). There is a player with a few guns, swarms of enemies that need killing and a weapon upgrade system made as simple as possible.

The world is procedurally generated, so you don't have to play the exact same game twice unless you want to.

The game is currently in a playable state with all core mechanics in place. There are currently only a few enemy types and weapon modifiers so the gameplay does get repetitive quite fast and the missions that are supposed to be harder are way too easy (because the really tough enemies don't exist yet). High scores tables and online features are also completely missing. The visuals and audio are going to need a lot work in coming updates.

So far only a handful of people have actually played this game so all feedback will be appreciated!
