Devlog 10: Polish Phase 1

BuckleBomb
A downloadable game for Windows

We are finished with the production phase which means this week we started polishing our game. This means no more additional gameplay features will be added and we will focus on making the game we have as nice as possible.

Coding:

For coding we did some small stuff, there was a bug were if you play the game with three of four players you would not get your correct color when starting. This is fixed so now player always get the color they choose.

We also changed the countdown in our controls scene to a loading bar instead.

The timer in the game was counting upwards, we fixed it so now it counts downwards. The background sound had vocals in it, we changed the sound so now it is an instrumental metal song looping. There is also a cheering sound at the end of the game.

We have UI at the top which made it so when player respawn on platforms they might respawn inside of the UI, we changed the position of the respawning platforms so this wont happen.

Sound design has been a focal point in our recent efforts. We've added essential audio elements to enhance the gameplay experience. For starters, we incorporated a walking sound for the characters, we also introduced a subtle dash sound effect and lastly we've implemented a falling sound effect.

In terms of gameplay optimization, our team is diligently tweaking the main level. We're strategically adding and rearranging platforms to ensure an enjoyable and well-balanced experience. Our aim is to create engaging gameplay where jumps and leaps feel satisfying and rewarding.

We finalized the start and endscreen. Both now have animation and look pretty cool! Here are some screenshots:
