Crawl Back to Me - Announcement
After a very busy period I finally found some time (and motivation) to start with some "After-jam" updating:
- I tweaked the tutorial texts a little; they now include a mention of the Options screen.
- Dialogue texts for all the Soul Stones are now complete.
I haven't done a new build yet. I want to add a few more things first (and test everything)
- End scene that reflects the final choice the player makes at the last Soul Stone
- Credits screen
- Start screen, with the option to skip the tutorial
I hope to have this update finished at the end if this month and upload it as the "After-jam" version.
After that I will start working on a major update. This will include the following:
- Fix the door script.
- Create traps.
- Create switches, pressure plates and keys that unlock doors or disarm traps
- Create an inventory system, chests, enemy drops for keys, weapon upgrades, health potions etc.
- Redesign all levels to include the above changes.
- Fix the lighting. The idea is to equip the player with a torch and have some fixed light sources inside the dungeon to create a dynamic scene.
- Add some scene dressing.
- Add a lot more scene dressing.
- Did I mention scene dressing? The tutorial has some at the beginning. Just a few pieces of stuff lying around... This game needs more of that. A lot more.
- Add more sounds. Footsteps when you move, shuffling footsteps when you turn, enemy footsteps. A sound when you open or close a door, A sound when you try to walk through a wall or closed door.
- Speaking of walls and doors. Some walls should have a secret door.
- Add some other stuff I can't think of right now...
So... there's a lot I want to add. That will of course take some time to create, design, program. I have no idea when it will all be finished. I will try to post some updates on the progress.
