“Calm, see me” - a personal, interactive prose poem

Calm, see me
A browser game made in HTML5

“Calm, see me” is an attempt at transforming the creation of a game into a personal experience, involving our family in the process. We built a digital world as a place to store something important to us, some words and thoughts that we would have never been able to share with our loved ones otherwise. Despite its limited duration, it's a game that required a lot of time to come out (the first experiments started from the music in 2020): we were always ending up working on it in those rare moments when we felt it was the right time, but the concept of the game was constantly present in our minds. It slowly became a persistent idea, a welcome presence, a friend, growing at its own pace. We would like to talk about many aspects, like the importance of discovering a slow approach to game-making and game-playing, or maybe about the different techniques used for the assets. We made many little choices we would like to explain, but right now we just want to enjoy the existence of the place where these drawings, sounds and words have found their home. A home we will always go back to and that will never be empty.
