Well, I'm a dummy...
I uploaded the wrong version for Public. The one here on Itch was grossly out of date, despite just recently uploading it. I am so sorry for the stress that caused.
What happened was the dev team decided that instead of having different versions (e.x. 23.05.08) we would just have one single version for the public (e.g. Public). However, before deciding that I had begun building with the version listed. That is completely and totally my fault. I apologize.
That said, there should now be an update available for you! It should work properly this time as well, including an automatic updater.
