#O2A2 Jam
Initially, I made this game as a collaboration with Editor, who provided AI-graphics to use in the game. AI art was (and still is) a very new technology, and I wanted to try it out like so many others. What I didn't realize at the time was the complicated side of AI-art, namely the lack of consent of all the people whose images have been used in the AI-art process. As time went on and I learned more about AI, I was bothered that one of my games used art generated with someone else's images.
I had a chat with Editor, and told him of my concerns. We agreed that I would make new art for Spirit of Outa, and remove the old versions from being downloaded. And here we are! Spirit of Outa has now brand new art assets, drawn by me. We might do a new collaboration at some point when Editor finds a way to train his own AI. I think AI will be a great tool when it becomes safer and fairer to use.
