Into the Gaping Maw is a story set in the Wayward Children universe, created by Seanan McGuire. It follows Blake Atwater, the next Ward of an unknown world, currently called ̷̢͉̙̯̰̫͍̪͉̰̫̫̅͐͐̔̊͗̄͑͒̀̽͑̂̉̐̈́̎. This update contains a rough draft of the prologue, "Beginnings & Endings." This is the first prototype of the game; none of the content presented has been refined.
